{"id":1600,"date":"2012-08-03T20:55:58","date_gmt":"2012-08-03T20:55:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/?p=1600"},"modified":"2012-08-03T20:55:58","modified_gmt":"2012-08-03T20:55:58","slug":"recipe-spicy-red-potato-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/?p=1600","title":{"rendered":"recipe: spicy red potato salad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1605\" title=\"potatosalad\" src=\"http:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad.gif 540w, https:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad-225x300.gif 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I always keep a bowl of hard boiled eggs in the fridge.\u00a0 So when I saw this recipe from <a title=\"cookbooks: cooking my way back home\" href=\"http:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/?p=1580\">Cooking my way Back Home<\/a>, I knew it was a perfect compliment to the red potatoes I had just picked up at the farmers market.\u00a0 Potato salad was a common side in the summer at my house, crunchy, creamy, and spicy. \u00a0Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>INGREDIENTS:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 2 pounds small red potatoes<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 6 large eggs<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 cup mayonnaise<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u2153 cup finely diced celery<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u2153 cup finely diced red onion<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 bunch green onions (including tender green parts), thinly sliced<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 \u00bd tablespoons horseradish mustard<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 tablespoon <a title=\"pantry staples: town hall spice rub\" href=\"http:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/?p=1563\">Town Hall Spice Mixture<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Salt and freshly ground pepper<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DIRECTIONS:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 In a saucepan, combine the potatoes with salted water to cover by 2 inches, bring to a boil over high heat, then lower the heat to medium, and cook for about 20 minutes, or until fork-tender. Remove from the heat, drain, and spread out in a single layer on a sheet pan to cool and dry.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 While the potatoes are cooking, you can hard-boil, peel, and chop the eggs into small pieces.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1603\" title=\"potatosalad3\" src=\"http:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad31.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad31.gif 540w, https:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad31-225x300.gif 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1604\" title=\"potatosalad2\" src=\"http:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad21.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad21.gif 540w, https:\/\/feastandflowers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/potatosalad21-225x300.gif 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, celery, red onion, green onions, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, spice mixture, Tabasco sauce, and vinegar and mix well.\u00a0 Fold in the eggs and season with salt &amp; pepper.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 When the potatoes are cool, quarter them lengthwise and place in a large bowl. Add the mayonnaise mixture and stir to coat the potatoes evenly.
